Toddler Spring Rainbow Craft

Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high, I am making rainbows with the toddlers because why not try. Prepare, setup, show kids at circle – and watch as the magic unfolds. Toddler art at its finest.

I found some scrap construction paper by the paper cutter and found it as inspiration. Cut mini paper plates into scallop edged circles, or really just in the toddler universe, some clouds.

Crafting table is set with colored strips, clouds, glue, and paint brushes.

Might not hurt to sing “red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple makes the rainbow quite bright” and hang up your example. These are toddlers after all and what may seem simple to you, is sometimes completely foreign to them – so go slow, take your time, and laugh because it is funny.

The example?

Sometimes the funniest part is the example versus reality. Here I showed kids at circle and asked them, what is this? Toddlers don’t hold anything back. And nothing builds your artistic confidence more than toddlers. If they smile and laugh telling you it is a rainbow and rush to the crafting table, well – you got yourself a hit.

The reality?

The rainbow might not be in order but it is sure cute. One more song perhaps to build it up before they take home. Lucky me charms.
