Princess Wands

My best friend said her twins are having a princess birthday party. It’s time to make some princess wands.

Every princess wand needs a star, right? At least that is what I think.

Open Cricut Design Space and cut stars using sturdy felt on the denim cutting setting.

Here I cut large 8″ x 8″ stars, medium sized, and the smallest. I did not measure the smaller ones, I just sized down accordingly in Design Space. For a pop of color – I used a different color felt for the medium sized.

Hello, pink.

I beaded around the perimeter of the small inner star. Long skinny lining and sequins with a bead for the tip.

Bedazzled to the max.

Once sufficiently glittered, it’s time for fun. Time for my hot glue gun of course. Mine is a vintage OG from my mother, so yes I am insanely obsessed with it.

Glue small white onto medium pink star, then pink onto big white star. Confusing sounding but not when you see it.

Find the other half and sew shut with blanket stitch.

Stuff as you go.

Wrap a wooden dowel rod with ribbon, dabbing with hot glue as you wrap. Tie with assorted ribbons (treated with fray-check at ends) and glue into center of star.

Fill in remaining segments and finish with blanket stitch.
