Cape Cod
Growing up, I spent my summers on the Cape. Salty days and sticky nights...quahogs were my life. Unfortunately, those days are gone, but the memories live on.
Island Queen
“Going down to the island, kiss my momma goodbye.” Going to Martha’s Vineyard and you better believe it’s on the Island Queen.
Pattern
Once upon a time I ordered fabric from Spoonflower AKA this totally awesome company that makes customizable fabric and wallpaper. To me the opportunities are endless with Adobe Illustrator and some imagination, but who am I to say.
the Design
I was so nervous to submit my first graphic, because at first I was creating my illustrations/graphics in Apple Pages – so I was worried it would come out blurry or something horrendous like that. I had two patterns in mind.
I wanted simple, so ended up choosing the latter.
Then I found an old picture frame at the dump, cleaned it up, and prepped my fabric for installation. And by installation, I mean cutting the fabric a little larger than the frame, then working in a circle to staple the fabric onto the wooden frame. Two nails and a piece of twine later, and I just made some art.
With some of the leftover fabric, I made an iron-on patch.
